Fondee en 1923-Approuvee No. 161.940. Reconnue D'Utilite Publique Le 5 Juillet 1930. President d'Honneur General MARIAUX G. C. Siege Social & Bureaux: 29, Rue Gullaume Tell- PARIS (17) Paris, Le. Cheques Postaux, Paris 756.83 Telephone, EToile 28-32." The letter describes the medal:"This picture a part of a painting by Ch. GARRY shows two wounded soldiers walking forwards to a first aid spot. The French sustaining the American eye-injured symbolises both American-French friendship and solidarity gathering all eye-injured veterans. The painting belongs to the EYE-INJURED WAR-VETERANS-Appointed of Public Utility 5 th July 1930 th-. It is to be shown at the headquarter. It was received a price at the first post World War I painting exhibition. It received several prices more included the American Standfort Saltus Price for a War Picture."

History:
History is described in the in paper included with the artifact. It comes from Paris France. The medal describes the friendship between the French and Americans since WWI.
Exterior: Dark red leather case brass button on the front to open the case. Case is hinged on the back allowing it open and display the medal inside
Interior: Inside bottom is yellow velvet with a yellow ribbon the bottom and yellow satin on the top. Rectangle brass commemorative medal. The front has leaves and berries on a branch on the left side of the medal and inscription in French on the right. On the back is a picture of a French and American soldier with a French inscription above and below the picture. White paper with blue print and letter head explaining the medal.
