Description

Blue rectangle box with two metal clasps on front edge. Box opens with gold silk top and an inscription stamped in black on to the silk. In the base of the box is white card board holding velvet with 49 silver, blue, white, and black small pins. Each pin is a blue oval with an inscription. A silver sword lays in the center of the oval. A black bird crosses the sword in the center with wings outstretched.

Inscription: “Les Combattants Des 170-174 R.I. Division Des Hirondelles De La Mort En Hommage A leurs Camardes De Combat Volontaries Americains Gurre 1914-1918” on gold silk. Each medal has “Hirondelles De La Mort 17.0 R” in silver on the blue oval.
